Austin’s fiercest new export, Die Spitz, arrive with their debut album Something to Consume, released via Third Man Records. Produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Mannequin Pussy), the record is a furious collision of passion, identity, and social critique. Singles like “Throw Yourself to the Sword” and “Pop Punk Anthem (Sorry for the Delay)” already showcased their sharp-edged intensity, but it’s “RIDING WITH MY GIRLS”, a Bita Ghassemi-directed video, that encapsulates their ethos: freedom, friendship, and the radical power of femininity.
Sharing songwriting and instrument duties, Die Spitz refuse to be boxed in, crafting songs that balance riotous urgency with lyrical weight. Their live reputation precedes them: cartwheels, rafters, crowd-surf solos. On tour with Viagra Boys and soon headlining their own run, Die Spitz are proving themselves not just as a band to watch, but as a necessary new voice in punk and alt-rock. Something to Consume doesn’t just rage against decay, it dares to turn chaos into communion.
