Berlin-based artist ANIQO continues her artistic evolution with “The Call”, now reimagined by trip-hop legend Howie B. Released via La Double Vie, the remix expands the track into a cinematic, otherworldly journey. ANIQO’s stirring vocals intertwine with the ethereal tones of Gloria de Oliveira, while Howie B layers sub-bass, shimmering electronica, and psychedelic textures. The result is a soundscape that pulls listeners into both the body and the imagination, otherworldly yet grounded in emotion.
Written during a period of personal transformation, “The Call” already carried a ritualistic, transitional spirit. With this remix, it ascends into a higher dimension, signaling ANIQO’s shift toward her upcoming 2026 album Earth, Love and Variations, created with Bill Ryder-Jones. For Howie B, whose career includes collaborations with Björk, Brian Eno, and U2, the remix reminds of his ability to reinvent atmosphere itself.
