With her new single The Call, ANIQO opens a spiritual gateway into a new artistic phase. The song was written three years ago during a time of personal transformation – and it took just as long to finally come into the light. The track is now released as a powerful folk-pop song with mystical depth on La Double Vie – the art-label founded by Gloria de Oliveira, who also lends her voice on backing vocals. Produced by Anita Goß aka ANIQO herself and co-produced by Dirk Feistel at StudioX Berlin, The Call blends atmospheric expansiveness and poetic longing with driving drums, elegant piano arrangements, and touches of psychedelic guitars and strings – all carried by ANIQO’s distinctive voice into a piece that feels like more than just a song: a commitment to departure, a rite of passage, a call from the future. About The Call, ANIQO says: “I’ve only recently come to understand that The Call is, for me personally, a kind of bridge into the light – a symbolic reflection of my time spent confronting both inner and outer shadows. What this song will ultimately mean, I may only discover in the future. But it’s definitely meant to give courage – to open the heart and follow it..” In the weeks following the release, a remix by trip-hop legend Howie B will follow. The Call is not part of ANIQO’s upcoming album – created in collaboration with Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) in England and set for release in early 2026 – but rather a deliberate artistic statement: a transitional ritual between darkness and whatever lies ahead.
ANIQO is the musical project of Berlin-based singer, composer, and poet Anita Goß. Her music moves between dark art pop, spiritual folk, and cinematic songwriting. With an intense voice, a clear artistic stance, and plenty of space for emotion, she creates sonic landscapes that resonate – sometimes fragile, sometimes resolute. Inspired by artists such as Nina Simone, Marianne Faithfull, Mitski, Sharon Van Etten, and David Bowie, ANIQO tells stories of inner transformation, the longing for light, and the strength found in letting go.
Following her internationally noted debut BIRTH (2022), ANIQO now stands at the beginning of a new artistic chapter. Her upcoming album Earth, Love and Variations is currently in the making in collaboration with Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) in England and is set to be released in early 2026. The album marks a departure from darkness and a turn toward clarity, spirituality, and hope – thematically dedicated to love in all its forms: from self love as a foundation to universal love.
