Ohio’s bass-drum-vocal trio All Hallowed is back with a feral, lo-fi cover of AFI’s “Miss Murder.”
Jenna Valyn’s vocals cut through walls of fuzzed-out bass from Ricky Terrell, driven by Nick Schaeff’s relentless drumming. Recorded with Micah Carli (formerly of Hawthorne Heights), the track captures All Hallowed’s raw, high-volume garage punk edge.
“ Here ya go! We wanted to honor the original which has become a pretty iconic song from that early 2000’s era of emo music, and put our own gritty, garage-y spin on it. I think anytime a woman sings a song originally sung by a man, it will hit differently and take on a new dimension,” says Valyn.
The single is released as part of Sweet Cheetah Record’s Cover For A Cause series and features artwork by Brandon Lewis (Punkerton Records), paying homage to the original AFI aesthetic while staying true to All Hallowed’s own branding.
“Miss Murder” drops Friday, September 5, 2025. 100 percent of the proceeds go to 988lifeline.org in honor of Suicide Prevention Month. Purchase it here.
