Soup On Tap Embrace New Beginnings On ‘Peach Tree’

Emerging Naarmn/Melbourne outfit Soup On Tap (formerly Middle St) are back with a fresh slice of introspective, guitar-driven indie. Their new single, ‘Peach Tree’, is a sincere coming-of-age anthem about self-honesty, vulnerability, and coming to terms with yourself in the face of a new relationship. Set against a backdrop of melodic synths, an airtight rhythm section and a gut-wrenching vocal performance, the song’s story is personal, yet universally relatable.

“The lyrics were written around the idea of starting a new relationship, and the fear and anxieties that come along with that. It’s a story about how the best way to portray yourself is to confront all the internal fear and self-doubt, start at level one, be honest with what you want. At the end of the day, it’s a song about being your best self.”Oscar Dean, Soup On Tap

Recorded at The Grove Studios, the track was produced by Soup On Tap with Jackson Weibe, mixed by Weibe, and mastered by Joe Carra at Crystal Mastering. The result is a warm blend of gritty optimism and melodic charm that nods to the band’s key influences of Violent SohoTwin PeaksDavid BowieFolk Bitch Trio, and Parcels.

‘Peach Tree’ is the embodiment of Soup On Tap’s signature style. Their music pulses with good vibes and real emotion, something they’ve made their mission since the beginning. With earliest origins going back as far as hometown Albury, the band has been years in the making. Now a party of four with three singles under their belt, they are constantly evolving and refining their sound.

They’ve also been turning heads for their electric live performances, shows that have seen them support international touring artists like Berlin Psycho Nurses (China) and Bakers Eddy (NZ), and play iconic venues like The Curtin and The Evelyn.
