Currently in the midst of a summer of UK/EU touring, Austin TX via Glasgow “spacegaze”’ duo SKLOSS are today releasing a new single and video titled ‘Veto Powder’. The new cut is the first track the husband-and-wife duo of Karen Skloss and Sandy Carson wrote together in the project’s infancy and is being released now as an outtake from their debut album ‘The Pattern Speaks’, released in March on Fuzz Club and now on its second pressing already.
SKLOSS play their first ever London headline at Strongroom tomorrow (August 27th), with more UK/IE shows coming up including festival appearances at Supersonic and Manchester Psych Fest, as well as an appearance at Levitation in Austin TX once they land back in the US. The last stretch of the tour follows a run of recent shows including stops in the UK, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway and Denmark, the Fuzz Club Festival in Eindhoven NL and its London warm-up party, and two recent semi-homecoming shows (for Carson) in Glasgow: supporting Os Mutantes in July and appearing at Mogwai’s Big Sound Festival earlier this month.
On ‘Veto Powder’, out today with an accompanying video by Thomas Hooper, SKLOSS say: “Veto Powder is a bonus track from the Pattern Speaks album and is one of the first songs we wrote as a band. It’s also an anti-war song. May we someday have the vision and courage to celebrate the infinite beauty in each other.”
