The Burning Paris releases the follow to its 2023 release for Dark Operative/Pax Aetemum, Last Leaves, September 5 via A Thousand Arms Music. Pre-order it here.
The band, who split in the early ’00s and went on to play in On Fire, Eksi Ekso (Magic Bullet) and Lavinia (The Mylene Sheath) before reforming in 2021 with three new members, delivers its most devastating work with Last Leaves.
Last Leaves is an emotionally rich, and masterful post-punk album packed with climaxes and crescendos delivering waves of driving guitars, textured strings, crystalline keys, and precise drumming. The songs unfurl like waves, some calming and serene, others capturing the listener in an emotional undertow.
“‘Bedroom Eyes’ is quite simply about the notion of asking for help from those who love us the most. It’s about realizing we aren’t impervious, and we need each other to survive through difficult times. When things seem hopeless, others can bring us hope both emotionally and spiritually when we feel lost,” the band explains.
Drawing inspiration from a variety of genres, including shoegaze, dream pop, neo-classical, and post-rock, The Burning Paris retains a dedicated following that reaches all corners of the globe.
