Rehearse Your Future, the debut EP from Sleep Pod Two, arrives August 29, 2025, on Mindpower Records, introducing a new band built on decades of shared musical history. The three-song release captures raw emotion, resilience, and connection, anchored by the lead single “All That We Have (Is Each Other),” out August 1.

“The power of music connects us in so many ways,” says guitarist Todd Trout“‘All That We Have (Is Each Other)’ blends tragedy—from loss to addiction—with a straightforward message of hope and support. Life can be awesome, but it can also be hard, unfair, and hard to stand when it knocks your legs out from under you. This song is about leaning on the people who care deeply for you, even if you can’t see it at the time. Here’s my promise, here’s my word, here’s my heart laid out for you.”

Though formed only in late 2022, Sleep Pod Two’s story is one of parallel existence, woven through decades of independent music. All four members—Trout (Gameface), Guy Julian (The Tank, Gameface), Chris Whyte (Cheswick, One Hundred Words for Snow), and Wal Rashidi (Jr. Juggernaut, For Closure)—trace their roots back to Southern California’s 1990s punk rock scene, particularly the long-running connections surrounding Gameface.

Whyte, once a fan who contributed photos to Gameface’s sophomore album Three to Get Ready, reconnected with Trout after years away from playing music. “Talking with Todd, he was the same big-hearted, motivating, empathetic soul that I remembered,” says Whyte. “We wanted like-minded bandmates to make the creative process low pressure, genuine, and fun.” Julian and Rashidi soon joined, completing the lineup.

Within weeks, songs poured out, demos followed in 2023, and their first live show arrived in early 2024. After a brief hiatus due to health setbacks, the band regrouped in 2025, recording Rehearse Your Future over one inspired weekend in Redlands, CA. The EP spans from the driving urgency of “All That We Have (Is Each Other)” to the melodic title track and closing with “Concealer,” a hook-laden, dynamic finale.

“Todd and Guy have been well within my musical orbit for 30-plus years via their bands Gameface and The Tank,” Rashidi reflects. “Chris and I have been connected professionally nearly as long. The musical and personal compatibility amongst us all is readily apparent.”

With Rehearse Your Future, Sleep Pod Two transforms decades of friendship and musical intersections into a heartfelt debut that insists, above all, that all that we have is each other.
