In a striking blend of nostalgia and reinvention, art punk pioneers Talking Heads have unveiled the first-ever music video for their seminal track “Psycho Killer.” Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mike Mills and starring Oscar-nominated actor Saoirse Ronan, the video reimagines the 1977 classic with moody, surreal visuals that echo the band’s iconoclastic spirit.
Originally featured on Talking Heads: 77, the song remains a cornerstone of the art punk genre. The release coincides with a deluxe reissue of the album, part of a broader celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary. Talking Heads played their first show on June 5, 1975, at CBGB, opening for the Ramones.
The band also announced a super deluxe edition of their 1978 album More Songs About Buildings and Food, set to arrive on July 25. For fans, it’s a renewed invitation into the band’s singular world, nervy, intelligent, and exciting as ever.
