Rosetta West, the independent blues-rock band rooted in Illinois’ underground music scene, has released a new single, Circle of Doubt, timed with the ancient Celtic festival of Beltane. Known for their spellbinding fusion of blues, psychedelia, and world folk, the trio once again delves deep into spiritual themes, this time exploring burnout, struggle, and transcendence.
Led by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joseph Demagore, the track unfolds with hypnotic guitar riffs steeped in heavy blues, evoking both weariness and persistence. Behind the torpid groove, swirling solos hint at yearning and higher consciousness, echoing the song’s central theme: a desperate attempt to escape a soul-wearying cycle of uncertainty.
Demagore, joined by longtime collaborator Jason X on bass, keyboards, and co-production, and reclusive drummer Nathan Q. Scratch, crafts aN intimate and expansive sound. With roots in mysticism and a catalog shaped by years of uncompromising independence, Rosetta West has built a loyal global following far from the mainstream.
Circle of Doubt follows their 2024 album Labyrinth and continues their tradition of thematic releases aligned with ancient rites. The single is now available on Bandcamp, YouTube, and most streaming platforms, a rare gem from a band that thrives in the shadows.
