Hooveriii (pronounced Hoover 3) is set to release their new album, Manhunter, on May 16 via The Reverberation Appreciation Society / Levitation.
Today, they also share the LP’s first single, “Westside Pavilion of Dreams,” an electrifying track that swaps the band’s signature psych-pop textures from their previous album for a gritty, guitar-driven onslaught. It blends the Hooveriii’s early, raw sound with elements of glam and garage, while also nodding to their more expansive, cinematic style. The single is accompanied by a vibrant, pop-art video directed by Logan Feser, contrasting the track’s theme of stagnation with bold, technicolor imagery and a scrappy, DIY feel.
After four albums of extra-dimensional exploration, Hooveriii deliver “Manhunter” with the controls set directly for the heart of the cosmic groove. Expertly synthesizing their influences and still managing to bring even more to the party, from spiky post punk to beautiful new age excursions and mammoth 70’s arena rock hooks, “Manhunter” delivers not only their best album yet but an instant classic for all the psych-heads, stoners and dimensionauts.
