Nottingham’s Alternative Rock band Hunch Power is back with a re-energised line-up and a humbling song mixed by Frank Turner. “All I Do Is Survive” is the follow-up to their fourth single “Is This the End (or Just the Beginning?)”, which is quite revealing for a band that keeps weathering the storm.
It’s the story of someone who gives up on their dreams, losing their guiding light but still clinging on to their driving force. It couldn’t be more relevant at a time when the cost of living crisis is forcing independent artists to choose subsistence and safety over risk.
The music repurposes the old Bo Diddley beat just like Bruce Springsteen, U2 and most recently The Gaslight Anthem did. The song was recorded by Snug (Girlband) at JT Soar, a hidden gem and vital stop for many international touring bands in the underground circuit. Hunch Power will be presenting it live right there on Sunday 23rd March after a show at Signature Brew in London on Saturday 8th March.
