The legendary Belgrade-based crossover hardcore/metal/reggae band Eyesburn performed between April 2015 and July 2016 with a hardcore all-star lineup. Alongside frontman Nemanja Kojić (vocals, guitar, trombone), the lineup included Zoran Đuroski aka Misterious (Svarog, Brainstorm, Overdose, Minimum, Necrophilia) on guitar, Slobodan Đukić aka Jimi Triple B (In From The Cold, Hang, Hitman, Drawbacks, Jimi Triple B’s 666 Blues Band, etc.) on bass and vocals, and Boris Usanović aka Count Boris (In From The Cold, Hang, Through Art, Jimi Triple B’s 666 Blues Band) on drums.

During this period, the band played dozens of shows across the region, wrote material for a new Eyesburn album, and began recording it. However, when the band ceased operating in this lineup, the recording process also came to a halt. A total of five songs were recorded, with one released as a video single titled “Dream Is Over.” The remaining material was simply archived in Blaze studio, where the album was being recorded.

In late summer 2023, Kojot and Jimi revisited these songs and realized it would be a shame for them to remain unheard. In agreement with the other members, they contacted producer Miloš Mihajlović from Blaze studio and asked him to retrieve the recording tapes and begin mixing and mastering a mini-album named after the first single, Dream Is Over. Among the songs is a cover of “Rainy Days” by In From The Cold.

At the beginning of 2024, an additional track titled “Don’t You Leave Me Alone” was recorded, bringing the total to six songs. The release was titled Cold Burn, reflecting the band’s essence as a fusion of Eyesburn and In From The Cold. (Zoran Đuroski was Eyesburn’s longtime sound engineer and, at some point between their albums How Much For Freedom? (2005) and Reality Check (2013), became their guitarist.)
