After so many excellent tracks released this year, Bristol-based band Yee House decided to close this year with “Poisoning The Poor,” another excellent composition that will unquestionably indulge listening apparatuses of those music enthusiasts looking for cleverly assembled and flawlessly performed music.
Their latest single is packed with raw, abrasive, gritty guitar works that will immediately grab your attention. The jangly, angular yet generously distorted chord progressions and riffs provide a perfect backdrop for all those vocal maneuvers to shine upon. Still, the band thought about everything, so beneath all those fuzzy instrumentations, you’ll notice each strum over the strings, almost acting as percussion until the rhythmic patterns jump in.
The vocals command attention and guide listeners through each segment while emphasizing all those segments and orchestrations. There is passion, sincerity, and power enclosed within those vocal harmonies that will force you to spin this track over again.
Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound this good without the excellent drumming performance. The drumming performance brings tension, dynamics, and groove through cleverly assembled rhythmic patterns. The well-articulated beats act as a backbone that holds everything together while simultaneously offering more than necessary power that elevates all those guitar works to new heights.
Yee House blends the fundamental elements of no-wave, punk rock, and garage rock in order to deliver a fresh, unique, innovative, exciting sound that will resonate with anyone even remotely into these genres. Their creativity and musicianship shine through each segment and there are no doubts this composition will resonate with the crowd.
The song is available on all streaming platforms.
