MUE, a french band of five musicians led by guitarist, singer, and composer Sylvain Jamault, are releasing today “Labyrinthe,” the first single off their second album currently in the works. The single is accompanied by a Music video about mental and emotional confinement, the violence of self-rejection, and then the liberating rupture that enables you to let go and start going forward again.

MUE is a group of five outstanding musicians led by Sylvain Jamault, guitarist, singer and composer: Etienne Callac (bass), Louise Gravez (piano), Léo Laurent (vibraphone), Nicolas Hild (drums), Alix Caillebot (guitar).

Former guitarist/vocalist with Rennes hardcore band ABKAHN, who shared the stage with the likes of SLAYER and Nostromo, Sylvain is a music enthusiast inspired as much by Prog and Metal as by minimal music and classical composition.

MUE released their debut album “Rencontres” in May 2023. Produced by Jefca Musique and published by Arts Prod, the album was mixed in Belgium by Stephan Kraemer (TiersenGojira,…). “Rencontres” is a  vibrant experimental record with no boundaries that reflects their eagerness to explore.

MUE’s “Labyrinthe,” the first single from their upcoming second album currently in the making, provides a taste of their sophisticated, mature material, which is heavily rock-oriented.

Their relentless rhythm section and outstanding counterpoint melodies, which feature piano and vibraphone interplay, remind us that rock is still evolving and taking us to new sonic boundaries. On stage, the band’s dedication and tremendous embodiment are obvious, and the artistic approach is persistent: a sonic explosion that leaves no one indifferent.

A woman and her shadow, the story of a break with oneself, within oneself, and of the help that is sometimes refused and then accepted to go further in one’s own perception. The story is about an initiation, a powerful resonance to sisterhood, the reality of violence against women, and the resources available to overcome these wounds, get back on one’s feet, and move on.

The track is instrumental, with three sections that revolve and increase in intensity. A mix of inspirations, including minimal music, samba accents, metal, an ascending vortex, and a liberating apotheosis conclusion.
