Dot Dash Sounds recently announced that they will releasing the “Primitive Thrill” LP from New York’s Weegee, and now they are back with a new single
Weegee was created in 2017 by multidisciplinary artist and vocalist Julie Congo. Following the recruitment of Adam Kastin on guitar (formally 1/2 of the underground noise irritants Colour Bük on guitar) and drummer Michael Rekevics (prolific multi-instrumentalist and member of Vilkacis, Yellow Eyes, and Loosey) the band has been privately writing and recording music for the last 7 years.
Weegee were subsequently joined by Sam Bennett on bass and Greg Vegas on saxophone for live performances. After a special appearance on WFMU in late 2023, they began to play select shows in the New York City area at venues such as TV Eye, Berlin, Mama Tried, and an upcoming release show at Bowery Electric.
Their 2024 debut LP Primitive Thrill on Dot Dash Sounds is set to be released on October 31st, 2024 with a release show planned on November 1st at the Bowery Electric in New York City with Live Skull and Skull Practicioners.
