S.C.A.B. has announced a new 5-song EP, Rose Colored Glasses, out Oct. 25. “IDK New Reality” is the first single from the upcoming EP, stream it HERE. You can also download a WAV file and hi-res images HERE.
Frontman Sean Camargo offers some points of reference for the track:
“Losing grip on reality. Clinging to identity. A large crucifix in Bolivia guarded by the police. Sexuality. Don’t forget about me. Dancing in the rain. Accepting the present moment as it is.”
Sean Camargo is concerned with the truth. As the songwriter and vocalist for Ridgewood, Queens band S.C.A.B, he searches for distortions and distractions from truth, and the interplay between truth and love. His songs are as much for him as they are for us. There’s a sincerity and vulnerability to these songs, all while keeping it light / tongue-planted-firmly-in-cheek. Over the past 5 years S.C.A.B.’s music has slowly developed to reflect this worldview; one created from an awareness of the interplay between truth, love and illusion, the great comedy of it all. With their forthcoming release Rose Colored Glasses EP, S.C.A.B. presents 5 songs about love, the shaky nature of reality, depression, songwriting, and being severely and acutely alive.
