falselove lean into their post hardcore roots with their fourth single ‘DREAMING//DROWNING’! The chaotically melodic track is focused around the feeling of trying to keep afloat, the track takes you on a trip through vocalist, Jacob Eynon’s deepest and darkest thoughts.
Following on from ’wit(HER)’, the band’s last release, ‘DREAMING//DROWNING’ showcases falselove at their most melodic and most intense. The track blends melody, ambience and aggressiveness, showcased in vocal delivery, lyrical content and instrumentation.
Vocalist Jacob Eynon explains, “This is a really personal song for me, a song based around trying to keep afloat when everything is trying to drag you down. You take a stroll through my deepest and darkest thoughts and a bit of a flashback through my life”.
The band spent the entirety of 2022 and 2023 conjuring up 6 songs that not only paid homage to their Melodic Hardcore roots, but expanded on their wider Pop and Emo influences.
‘this time will haunt us’, the band’s debut EP, is due to be released in October of this year.
Jacob describes why ‘DREAMING//DROWNING’ was the right single to follow up ‘wit(HER)’.
“For me, the most important thing in any song is the story it tells and the way it makes you feel. We completed a two part concept story with our previous two releases, I felt like it was now time to let ourselves of the leash a little bit and showcase what we’re all about. ‘DREAMING//DROWNING’ is melodic, chaotic, heavy and intense – it’s everything falselove aims to be”.
falselove have a series of new singles to release in 2024 in the lead up to the release of ‘this time will haunt us’, as well as a huge pile of demo material waiting to be unleashed for a new record alongside live plans to accompany the release.
