Delivery Released New Single “Digging The Hole”

One of the hardest and fastest working bands in Australia, Melbourne punk rock five-piece Delivery have today announced their signing to Heavenly Recordings and shared the first track for the label, “Digging The Hole”.

The track is a controlled explosion of a rock n roll record: three and a half minutes of precise forward motion that’s heavy enough to do serious damage, brilliantly breaking down into a percussive middle 8 before one final burst of fireworks. The perfect introduction to your new favorite band.

Talking about ‘Digging The Hole’, Delivery said: “‘Digging The Hole’ was the first track thrown in the mix for our upcoming album and it definitely set the tone of things to come. It was written in a rush, combining a bunch of unused ideas, with vocals and guitar leads completely ad-libbed on the spot as it was demoed. The final song ended up with more twists and turns than a Sherlock episode, but at the same time seemed to make perfect sense to me. Musically, it draws from a bunch of our typical influences: The Hives, The Intelligence, Parquet Courts, The Ramones as well as borrowing some tricks from our favorite Melbourne contemporaries. And lyrically… well, there are some people who take on the grunt work and there are some people who don’t mind shoveling the dirt back in and undoing all the effort. Digging The Hole is a reminder to be the person who keeps digging that hole, even when someone is filling it right back in again.

Without doubt one of the most exciting bands in Australia right now, they released their debut album Forever Giving Handshakes in 2023, a effortlessly cool record which attracted fans from Henry Rollins (who has played almost the whole catalogue on his KCRW show) to Rolling Stone Australia (Top 10 albums 2022) through old school DIY word of mouth; Delivery are that rare thing, a true band’s band and a fan’s band simultaneously.

Selling out headline shows from Melbourne to Berlin, Delivery recently were one of the highlights of both the Golden Plains and Meadow Festivals in their native Australia before which they played a 20+ date EU tour which culminated in a show with Fat Dog at the Windmill Brixton. Delivery have also supported Wednesday, Pond and Tropical Fuck Storm amongst many others.
