The Infinity Process – Glitches

Glitches” is a new single by The Infinity Process, an excellent Toledo-based trio. It’s their first piece of work in 2024, arriving as an adequate follow-up to “Dystopia” and “Losing Reality,” two outstanding compositions released in 2022. The trio wrote “Glitches” after watching the Westworld TV series. They point out how the rise of artificial intelligence and the reliance on cell phones and social media hold us tied, so even real-world events seem fake and staged. Soundwise, The Infinity Process combines many different but complementary subgenres. Perhaps modern metal comes to mind first, but you’ll stumble upon many other elements along the way. Don’t be surprised if you hear sonic ingredients borrowed from melodic metal, modern heavy metal, modern rock, hard rock, and alternative rock because these experienced musicians stacked their song with all these properties. They use all these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift their track on an entirely new level while simultaneously remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations with different but complementary styles resulted in a magnificent song that will appeal to even the pickiest modern metal fans and beyond.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice how The Infinity Process thought about everything while writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing this track. “Glitches”  arrives with a perfect song structure, stacked with many segments and garnered with impressive instrumentations. The band poured many ideas, heart, and soul into this one, and it resonates with brilliance from scratch to finish. Clever lyricism and outstanding vocal performance serve as a centerpiece, emphasizing everything the band tried to achieve with this song. The expertly executed vocal harmonies balance low, mid, and high notes while simultaneously commanding attention and guiding listeners on this lush sonic voyage. In the meantime, guitars act as more than a necessary backdrop for all the vocal articulations. The interplay between rhythm and lead guitars gives more than necessary complexity to the ambiance. You’ll notice how the tastefully assembled regular and palm-muted riffs resonate on one side while the other shines with leads, themes, melodies, harmonies, accentuations, and other sonic maneuvers. Also, it’s nearly mindblowing how vocals and guitars suit each other.

Of course, The Infinity Process thought about the rhythm section as well. You’ll hear how the equally intricate, audible, warm-sounding basslines roar beneath all the guitar layers, offering more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth while binding the mentioned instrumentations with drums. The experienced drummer dictates groove and tempo with marvelous rhythmic maneuvers. His profoundly dynamic, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics keep the remainder of the band in line. “Glitches” is a modern melodic metal masterpiece. With brilliant lyricism and exceptional vocal, sonic, and rhythmic performance, The Infinity Process carries an important socio-politic message about the world we’re living in. Also, it’s an impressive showcase of their abilities. They break all the rules and shapeshift boundaries of so many genres by taking only the finest qualities from each one of them, and all with purpose to deliver premium modern metal music to the broader auditorium. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
