Kill Shelter Pays Tribute To Bauhaus By Covering “She’s In Parties”

UK artist, DJ and producer Kill Shelter has just released an extended cover version of the iconic 80s classic “She’s in Parties” by Bauhaus.

The track originally appeared on the Honoris III (Tribute to Bauhaus) album by French underground label Unknown Pleasures Records alongside contributions by Blind Delon, Chris Shape ft Su Eko (Velvet Kills), Years of Denial, Radikal Kuss, Selfishadows and many more.

The latest single features Alan “Lord Hagos” Haggarty (Lodestar, Senser) on bass, and the accompanying video stars alternative US DJ and model, MAUS (Communion After Dark).

“Originally, I was asked to contribute a track for the Honoris series on Unknown Pleasures Records. I always loved the extended version of She’s in Parties, and I wanted to pay homage to that heady mix of alternative pop and blissed-out dub that they captured back in the day.

There is a lot of spontaneity and improvisation in the guitar work on the cover, which is very different from my usual approach. The majority was done in just one take, vibing off the bass line that Alan (Haggarty) laid down. I learned a lot during the process, and that new-found freedom is definitely being taken forward in my forthcoming material.“

His highly acclaimed 2022 release “Asylum” is currently available via Metropolis Records and Manic Depression Records. In 2023 Kill Shelter released The Sex Tape Sessions EP and VHS with Death Loves Veronica on Cold Transmission.
