Béton Brut Released “machine-à-habiter” EP

On 13 December 2023, Hungarian-based  emoviolence/post-metal band Béton Brut released their  debut EP called machine-à-habiter.  The three-piece band (Csaba Kocsis – drums,  additional vocals; Tamás Grizner – bass, vocals; Zsolt  Vékony – guitar, vocals) was formed in 2022. They are  playing a two-face type music: draw from the legacy of  emoviolence bands like Orchid or Ampere and post metal bands like Neurosis, Rosetta or Isis. Accordingly,  the first song (a machine for living in) is a punchy and  fast banger, while the second (tomorrow) is more epic. Check out machine-à-habiter HERE

The band draws inspiration from architecture (thanks to Zsolt’s passion for it), which is partly  reflected in the visuals. The French term béton brut refers to raw concrete, hence the name of  the architectural movement called brutalism. The title of the EP and the first song are based  on the thesis of the famous modernist architect Le Corbusier: he said that the house is nothing  but a a machine for living in (machine-à-habiter). Tomorrow, however, deals with a more  “everyday” subject: people who believe firmly in various conspiracy theories.

The band recorded the two songs in their rehearsal room with the help of Tibor Dobi  (DawnSonic), who was also responsible for the post-production (mixing and mastering). The  cover artwork and videos were made by Zsolt Vékony.
