Rokita – She Is

“She Is” is a recently released song by Chris Rokita, a songwriter, arranger, producer, recording engineer, sound designer, singer, and visual artist from Frankenmuth, Michigan. The song talks about man’s struggle to understand woman’s nature. “She Is” serves as a perfect follow-up to Cranial Euphoria, Spring Break, and Hyperbolic Overload, three singles Rokita released earlier this year. Still, this song showcases some innovations in songwriting, composing, arranging, recording, and producing. Soundwise, Rokita combines several genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps pop-punk comes to mind first, but you’ll also notice how some other complementary music genres found their way into this sonic equation. Therefore, don’t be surprised if you stumble upon elements of melodic punk rock, pop rock, classic rock, hard rock, and rock ‘n’ roll. Rokita used these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift “She Is” on an entirely new level, while the artist and his band remain loyal to the primary sonic direction. These experimentations with different styles resulted in an exceptional composition that will appeal to even the pickiest pop-punk fans.

You’ll notice how Rokita’s outstanding vocal performance is the centerpiece, emphasizing everything the remainder of the band tried to achieve with this song. He skillfully balances low, mid, and high notes, decorating all the segments. The semi-distorted, catchy chord progressions, riffs, melodies, and leads serve as a perfect backdrop for Rokita’s vocal maneuvers, and subtle additions of the chorus effect enhance the ambiance even more. You’ll hear how the equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines offer more heaviness, depth, and clarity, but also act as a binding element between guitars and drums. The excellent drumming performance, based upon moderate, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics, provides groove and pace but also keeps the remainder of the instrumentations in line. Every instrument plays a significant role in building such a rich and luxurious ambiance, but Rokita’s vocal performance steals the show here.

Rokita thought about even the tiniest details while assembling this composition. He thoroughly planned the song structure, and you’ll hear how every segment carries many sonic delicacies and surprises. He invested all his experience, knowledge, skills, talent, ideas, and musicianship so his latest single could resonate like this. He proved he’s an outstanding songwriter, composer, and producer who knows how to assemble catchy pop-punk songs where every instrument has its place and purpose. “She Is” embraces the fundamentals of pop punk but still carries many qualities of melodic punk rock, pop rock, classic rock, hard rock, and rock ‘n’ roll, proving this song is not only for pop punk fans but anyone into flawlessly executed music. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it.
