The Inciters Announce 7″ “Boot N Soul”

THE INCITERS, the longtime Santa Cruz 10 piece Northern Soul band, have announced their new 7” “Boot N Soul” which will be available through PIRATES PRESS RECORDS on September 8th and in stores on September 22nd.

”Boot N Soul” 7” is the latest release in a rich and deep catalog for a band who boasts a nearly 30 year career. However, this single in particular has a special history. “The song was written and given to us by Lars Nylander. He wrote it in a reggae style for The Impalers, but they never got to use it. He thought it would make a great foot stompin’ soul song so he gave it to us,” says trumpet player Rick Kendrick. Not only did Nylander pen the tune, he joined the band for this track by recording keys for this track.

When the track is released, fans will immediately hear the warm tones and organic energy that will jump through their speakers. That’s evident through the band’s approach in their recording, as they recorded the horns, drums, and singers at the same time. By recording the horns, drums, and singers in their own rooms simultaneously, the record bottles up their energy perfectly.

The Inciters are not your average 10 piece band. The group has been together since 1995, with a number of different members over the years, and have been delighting the crowds of punks, mods, skins, Oi!, and power pop shows with their own brand of Northern Soul tunes.

So what exactly is Northern Soul? It’s a sound inspired by soul artists from the 1960s hailing from northern England. Kendrick explains that these artists would have these huge soul all-nighters where they’d spin these high energy soul ‘stompers.’

With an upcoming European tour including several festival appearances, a music video, and more new tunes on the way, the Inciters are bringing their foot-stomping songs and energy to the masses!
