London-based multi-instrumentalist SANDS released a single ‘Transmission’ on 10th July 2023. The uplifting shoegaze track is the first single off of his new album ‘The World’s So Cruel’that is set to be released on 13th October 2023.
With an array of glistening synths, catchy guitar riffs and a bouncing drum beat, SANDS says the energetic track is inspired by the overwhelming vibe of the busy North East London neighborhood he once resided in. His honest lyricism reveals the hecticness he underwent: “You’ve gone way down too far but if you scream I’ll find you there.”
Andrew Sands wrote and produced ‘Transmission’ at different London studio locations, including Hackney, South Bermondsey, and his flat. His musical influences comprise of Neil Young, Bowie, The Smiths, David Lynch, Talk Talk, Echo and the Bunnymen, and more, resulting in an arrangement of rock ‘n’ roll, psychedelia, and pop elements throughout his music.
Since 2017, SANDS has released EPs and singles ‘Sands,’ ‘Let’s Run / Echoes,’ ‘Waves Calling,’ ‘Tomorrow’s Gone / Burning Man,’ and ‘Nothing Can Go Wrong.’
Transmission’ is out now, with his album ‘The World’s So Cruel’ being released on 13th October 2023.
