The Midnight Vortex – Come & Play

The Midnight Vortex returns with another exceptional track called Come & Play. This composition immediately grabs your attention thanks to outstanding vocal and instrumental performance. Each musician brings their absolute best to the table, resulting in an energetic, hypnotic, and mesmerizing ambiance that is simply irresistible. Right with the initial notes and beats, the vocal harmonies shape the essence of the track. The skillful vocalist showcases her ability to create stunning vocal leads that range from low to high notes. She perfectly complements the heavily distorted guitars and bass, creating a sonic landscape that leaves a lasting impression. Both guitar players fully understand the powers of heavy riffs, but they also incorporate a decent dosage of melody and harmony into this song. Therefore, you’ll enjoy this irresistible sonic contrast where calmness and aggression collide throughout the track. The bass holds those foundations together, providing a thunderous force that propels the song forward.

The drummer continuously delivers highly dynamic rhythmic sequences, built upon well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. He effortlessly guides the listener through the ever-changing landscape of the song, creating a sense of urgency and excitement, while his impeccable timing and creativity shine through, adding an extra layer of depth and dynamics to the track. The Midnight Vortex’s ability to seamlessly blend and combine various genres is exceptional. While the composition undoubtedly contains all the vital elements of alternative rock music, it also incorporates some of the finest properties borrowed from grunge, nineties rock, and post-punk. This musical fusion resulted in a unique sound that stands out amongst their contemporaries.

The influence of grunge is evident in the raw and emotional delivery of the lead vocalist. Her ability to convey the lyrics with passion and authenticity is truly captivating. The vocal harmonies, combined with the heavily distorted guitars, create a sense of nostalgia. However, The Midnight Vortex also channels the energy and attitude of post-punk, adding an edgy and rebellious dimension to their sound. Come & Play is an exceptional showcase of The Midnight Vortex’s talent as musicians and as a collective unit. Each instrument and vocal performance is executed with undeniable skill, precision, and utmost passion. The infectious energy of the track is impossible to resist, instantly drawing listeners in and leaving them craving for more. The Midnight Vortex prove they are a creative force you should pay attention to because Come & Play is possibly one of the best alternative rock tracks you’ll hear this year. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
