The Drowns / The Last Gang – Split 7″ (Pirates Press Records)

A new split 7″ vinyl between The Drowns and The Last Gang is one of those records you should check out if you are into some excellent punk rock music. Both bands are well-known in the DIY punk rock circles, and they unleash nothing but a sheer quality on this fine piece of plastic. The Drowns open this record with their unique approach to classic rock, decorated with the finest properties of streetpunk music. With an ability to successfully emulate the sound of 70s hard rock, The Drowns deliver some of the most dynamic and exciting music. Their powerful vocal harmonies, catchy riffs, complex basslines, and dynamic drumming make it nearly impossible to sit still while listening. You may notice how AC/DC inspired these folks to assemble a powerful track that immediately resonates with sheer power and energy.

Meanwhile, The Last Gang’s side features an excellent melodic punk rock/pop punk mashup. Their ear-appealing vocal harmonies, singalongs, melodic leads, memorable chord progressions, vividly hearable low-end tones, and moderate rhythmic sequences make their sound perfect for any listener looking for some infectious punk rock. The Last Gang are known for their memorable choruses, so Pleaser is a solid example of an anthemic punk rock song. It is a track that immediately gets into your ears and refuses to let go. Both bands have delivered their signature moves while pushing the boundaries of the beforementioned music genres. Their experimentations resulted in a perfect blend of classic sounds and modern approaches, creating a cohesive and exciting experience for any listener. Another impressive aspect of this record is the technical prowess displayed by both bands. The Drowns’ instrumental sections are absolutely spot on, with each member pushing themselves to deliver the most dynamic and complex sound possible. Likewise, The Last Gang’s approach is equally technical and masterful, with each member perfectly complementing the others to create a cohesive and memorable sound.

This record is a must-listen for any punk rock fan. Both bands took fundamental elements of their favorite music styles and combined them in a way that feels timeless and modern. Another standout aspect of this record is the intensity and passion both bands deliver in their performances. Whether it’s The Drowns’ hard-hitting instrumentals or The Last Gang’s catchy choruses, each track packs energy and raw emotion. This record will have you headbanging, fist-pumping, and singing along from start to finish. Also, both bands display an exceptional level of talent, creativity, and passion for their craft, making this split release even more ear-appealing. Head to Pirates Press Records for more info about ordering this fine piece of plastic.
