Jett Jenkins Released New Single “Someone Special”

Up-and-coming indie-pop artist Jett Jenkins has announced the release of her new single, “Someone Special.” This track tells the story of losing the element of friendship with someone you strongly love. Referring to the aftermath and hurt of ending a friendship with someone, Jett says, “There is not hatred, but rather growing apart and the pain that comes with that.” Through raw tones and minimal background noise, Jett Jenkins creates a candid vocal that carries throughout the song, emphasizing the dichotomy between an energized sound and a tired singer. “Thought you were someone, someone special to me,” is one of the main sentiments repeated throughout the track, reiterating that losing a best friend never gets easier, but there is hope that it will with time.

Jett speaks on her thought process while writing this song – digging deeply into her emotions, “I wrote this song about a year ago, when I realized a friendship with someone I love had almost disappeared.” The artist also shared that despite Someone Special’s somber overtone, she intended for a wave of optimism to exist within the intertwining lyrics and melodies. This single is the first release of two new musical projects Jett Jenkins has been working on.

Jett Jenkins is a Texas-based indie pop artist who layers dreamy, colorful production behind heavy lyricism. With stylings residing somewhere between Billie Eilish and Blondie, this poignant singer-songwriter leaned into her passions after having an inspirational experience at a Clairo concert. Years of playing the guitar and performing in musical theater prepared this emerging artist to dive into her music career; her debut E.P. is described as relatable, emotional, and delivering “lyrics beyond her years.” Alongside her debut in music, Jenkins is preparing to make the transition into young adulthood as she anticipates the move from home to college. This promising powerhouse makes a show-stopping introduction in her first single, “City in Anger,” in which she captivates listeners with passionate vocals, invigorating instrumentation, and lyrics steeped in melancholy. Jett Jenkins, with her spellbinding charisma, is on track to finding a home on the playlist of indie-pop lovers for years to come. Stay posted for the upcoming release of her new single – the second song released alongside her most recent track, “Someone Special.”
