Meg Myers Drop Video For “Me”

Today marks an exciting new chapter for ethereal 5-D rock goddess Meg Myers whose much-anticipated album—TZIA— is now slated to release via Sumerian Records on Friday, March 24th. Get it HERE. The leading single from the album, “ME,” is an upbeat, angsty showstopper that also showcases Meg’s signature lyricism along with an accompanying music video. To celebrate the release, the pop/rock disruptor will kick off a headline tour in April 2023 with the Weathers band where she will perform many of these tracks live for the very first time. Check out the album track listing below.

Meg chose “ME” to set the tone for the album, stating, “I wrote ME because I needed clarity on what I was feeling about my relationship at the time, and writing is one of my most potent forms of therapy and how I receive messages from the divine. I had been coming up with all these moody songs for so long but I felt this urge to play something more upbeat, angsty, and kinda funky on the guitar. I had this major revelation writing it, where I realized everything I had been looking for in a partner was already inside of me. Which sounds cliche, but it was this very powerful moment where I was finally able to see the depth of myself.”

The energy on TZIA is palpable. You can taste Meg’s furious feminist energy where she often flaunts her multi-hyphenate genre-spanning style as she oscillates between themes of empowerment and self-doubt.

About the album, Meg commented, “TZIA is the manifestation of a 4-year-long journey of healing, existential awakening, transformation, and rebirth. I am so grateful to be able to share this light and the insights I have gained with you through this exploration and expression of my deepest and most raw and honest feelings that have emerged from this period of self-reflection.” She continued, “TZIA is here to question our belief systems and open up our hearts. It is here to inspire us to look beyond the limited lenses we have been programmed to view ourselves and the world so that we can integrate our fears and embrace our sovereignty as the wild, badass, cosmic warriors of light we were born to be.”

At the age of 19, Meg Myers moved to Los Angeles to record her debut album ‘Sorry’ released via Atlantic Records. That album spawned top 15 and top 20 alternative radio hits, “Desire” and “Sorry,” respectively. Myers’ striking and visceral music videos skyrocketed to upwards of 9 million YouTube views, and her Spotify plays rank in the tens of millions. She’s graced the pages of every major publication from Rolling Stone to Cosmopolitan and has brought her hypnotizing performances to the late-night stages of Conan, Carson Daly, and Jimmy Kimmel. In addition to major tours with the Pixies, Alt-J, My Chemical Romance, and Royal Blood, she has performed at notable festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Governors Ball. Myers’s follow-ups, ‘Thank U 4 Taking Me To 2 The Disco’ and ‘I’d Like 2 Go Home Now,’ released via Sumerian Records in 2020, which included the acclaimed singles “Any Way You Wanna Love,” “i hope you cry (with morgxn),” and “The Underground,” which were met with praise. These were the first releases since the blockbuster success of her chart-topping cover of Kate Bush’s 1985 classic, “Running Up That Hill” in March 2019. Originally performed during an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, “Running Up That Hill” made history by ascending to #1 on Billboard’s “Alternative Songs” airplay chart 42 weeks after its official release. The cover also reached #1 on Billboard’s “Rock Airplay” chart in its 29th week.
