Shell Beach Released Video For “Absolution”

Hungarian experimental quintet Shell Beach have unveiled a video for their new single ‘Absolution’, taken from their upcoming album Solar Flare, out 17th February 2023 via Wild Thing Records.

On the video, guitarist Paul Somló comments: Shell Beach’s live show is at the heart of what this band is since the beginning, so we wanted to show a simple and honest reflection of us doing what we love to do most. The footage is from our live shows over the past 12 months where we played ‘Absolution’ live at our favourite home town venues Budapest Park, A38 Ship and Dürer Kert. Edited and directed Gábor Tóth (Harmed), whose past video credits includes work for Deftones and Volumes, the video includes animation featuring the mystical alien character and solar eclipse from our Solar Flare album cover.”

On the new single, vocalist Zoltán Bodóczy comments: “The feeling of being totally left behind, seasoned with the already glimmering hope that one day this will end, because time will solve it anyway. This is also the tragedy of this lyrics, because the memories fade and it is no longer possible to turn to them.”

On new album Solar Flare, he adds: “The album lyrics basically deal with a difficult period in my life and I practically processed my confusion in them. Everything’s here: breakup, depression, starting again, failure, standing up, new love, unfinished business. From this cavalcade, I was able to highlight some ideas and these served as the basis of the lyrics. We tried to arrange the order of the tracks in such a way that a process emerges from the album as a whole. “

Shell Beach have been announced for UK Tech-Fest taking place 29th June – 2nd July 2023, with many more dates to be announced.

Shell Beach are no strangers to the European touring circuit with six European tours under their belts as well as appearances at several major European festivals. The band have toured Europe supporting Enter Shikari and a handful of their own headline tours. Shell Beach have also graced the festival stages of Groezrock Festival (BE), Sziget Festival (HU), Rock For People Festival (CZ), Electric Castle (RO), Volt  Festival (HU), and many others. Touring helped mature the band’s sound and helped Shell Beach get further established as the most prominent band of the Hungarian rock music scene, leaving the band’s fanbase eagerly awaiting their forthcoming record.
