MYNK are a London-based band who formed under the shackles of isolation. They quickly discovered their sound through the creation of remote demos before teaming up with frontman and producer Faris Badwan (The Horrors, Cat’s Eyes) and Max Heyes (Primal Scream, Massive Attack) to record their debut single “Boundaries,” out now via all DSPs. As shown via their first track, the band draw influence from a wide range of both audio and visual art, from minimalist pop to David Lynch, resulting in a visceral combination of pop-noir melancholia.
Speaking on their debut, the band wrote: “The track is about the boundaries we set in order to function in different situations/relationships; the crossing of sacrifice and habit meets somewhere in the middle to maintain a connection. It’s about the relatable internal questioning of ‘do I/don’t I?’ and where that takes you, and how you can lose yourself in it.” Stay tuned for more new music from MYNK, coming soon.
