Suzi Moon Release Video For Family Memories

SUZI MOON recently premiered avideo for the track “Family Memories” which is the second single off her upcoming debut album “Dumb & In Luv!” The LP is now available on Pirates Press Records’ webstore.

After releasing the title track to the album a few weeks ago coupled with a European tour and multiple festival appearances including Rebellion Fest, Xtreme Fest, and more, fans have been clamoring to hear more from Moon’s upcoming full-length.

The song was inspired by Moon’s grandmother who used to protect her little brother from her alcoholic father. The tune morphed into one about her family growing up. “You shouldn’t hold onto painful memories of the past, but you absolutely should hold tight onto those who helped you through it,” adds Moon.

Moon’s first two EPs “Call The Shots” and “Animal,” saw her music appear on Sirius XM, Iggy Pop’s BBC Radio program, over 30 terrestrial radio stations, in magazines around the world, and much more – “Dumb & In Luv” is Moon’s debut LP that firmly cements her, as Vive Le Rock aptly coined her, “The new queen of punk rock.”

“Dumb & In Luv” was written and mostly recorded before Moon’s EPs, but it is precisely what you’d expect from Suzi – 100% catchy rock n roll. Suzi enlisted the help of producer Davey Warsop (Sharp/Shock, Suedehead, Beat Union) to help bring the songs to life and tweak the songs to perfection.

Moon says: “My first EP, Call The Shots, had a straightforward punk n’ roll sound, my second EP, Animal, was a bit more melodic, and Dumb & In Luv is really a mix of those two styles, seeped in the influence of all those great California bands that influenced me while I was growing up, like Social Distortion, Rancid, Green Day, and Sugarcult.”

To bring this album to life, Moon overcame hurdles such as the pandemic breaking up recording sessions, recording in multiple studios around the country, and many re-writes and revisions as the songs evolved. However, all those frustrations came with full-circle moments, like when Moon had to re-record some vocals in Mike Herrera’s (MXPX) studio. “Every high, every low, every heartbreak I poured onto a page or tears I cried into a glass of wine, every crappy restaurant job I worked, every show I played… All of those things led me to write ‘Dumb & In Luv,’ and here I was in Bremerton, WA, on tour with my awesome band, nearly two years into “going solo,” recording vocals for an album I put my heart into at a punk legend’s home studio.”

It is not only Moon’s attention to detail in crafting her songs but also in putting the album together as a complete package that has allowed this record to be the full vision Moon has for it. She has placed a heavy emphasis on not just the track selection but also its sequencing, as she intends for listeners to have a complete experience in which the songs sequentially complement each other.

This album is meant to be played LOUD. So grab your favorite sunglasses, start the car, and prepare to blast this album with the windows down and the sun shining while enjoying a long drive down the highway.
