Interview: Rabid Hood

Rabid Hood is a melodic hard rock band from Western Norway. Check out this interview done by Andrew of Rogue PR. Enjoy!

When did you realise that your project/band had the potential to be a career, or long-lasting idea?

We have been pushing for many years and gained experience and opportunities along the way, it has been a bumpy one but now we have built up a name and a reputation and get to reap the fruits of our labor.

When did the first glimpses of your latest release come together?

We wanted to start a new melodic hard rock band and started recording some demo songs a few years ago but it stopped there. The songs remained untouched until the summer of 2021 then we brushed the dust off and decided to further develop Rabid Hood and the result I would say was very good, it is some of the best we have produced that’s pretty sure.

What really inspires your music?

We were all born in the 70’s so we like what we grew up with … like Motorhead, AC / DC, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath etc and we always wanted to be like them. So i think it has probably affected us as a band more than we think but thats how it is.

Can you tell us a bit about the lyrical process for a song? How does it normally work?

The lyrics is about people who need but do not get what they want and has inspiration from reality i think many will recognize themselves there and being in that atmosphere. It’s difficult to write lyrics to hard rock because there are many words you can not use like love and love stories it must somehow be rough and tough like you have to have a tough reputation.

What’s the most rewarding moment in your creative process as a band, and why?

It is the result of what you have created and not least the reception among fans and industry that is what is most satisfying I think.

Who produces your music, and what are they like to work with? (If you produce the music yourself, what do you love the most about working that way?)

We are so lucky to work with Beau Hill Musicproduction, he has long experience working with many big names out there and he makes our music sound very good, among the best in the industry and we are very pleased with the result.

Can you give us a couple of personal highlights from your live show? Particular memories that stand out to you?

It must be when we had a gig at a festival and we drove for four hours, when we arrived the lead guitarist discovered he had forgotten his guitars LOL

What advice would you give to another upcoming band/act?

Take advantage of and explore all the opportunities that arise along the way in your music career.
