Newcastle-based pop-punk trio Nomad Anthem has released a new single today. Smile is their ninth composition in the row from the series of singles launched in 2019 and the first track this year. This particular single carries the properties of some of the best pop-punk songs released in the late 90s and early 00s. Of course, besides evoking some of the best years for the beforementioned genre, Nomad Anthem also incorporates some trends borrowed from contemporary indie music. Therefore, if you ever loved bands like Goldfinger, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Smash Mouth, or any other group that contained catchy themes performed by the brass section, you’ll love their music. However, the music of Nomad Anthem is straightforward pop-punk without ska segments.
Of course, Smile carries sheer creativity, brilliant ideas, and excellent musicianship of this British pop-punk trio. Their newest single only gives you the hints of better times for this genre without paying the direct homage to the beforementioned bands. Smile sounds like a perfect summertime song that talks about having fun with friends one last time before pursuing a career, raising a family, and living the American dream. It’s a perfect pop-punk song for those who profoundly love this sound. Smile is available for listening on all streaming platforms.
