Today we’re exploring more rock music through the latest work of The R Train band. I have to admit it’s a bit unusual that I review a cover song, but Thoughts Words Action is a website that likes to experiment with different concepts, so be it. We Got To Get Out Of This Place is the latest single by New York City’s The R Train Band, originally performed by the legendary The Animals. It is their sixth number in the row from the series of singles launched in 2020 and their first release in 2022. It’s unusual for a band to release a cover song as the first piece of work in the new year. Who knows, maybe this strategy will work out to their advantage.
Right with the initial notes and beats of this song, I can hear these guys are experienced musicians who’re not joking around with their instruments. The R Train Band thought about every sonic movement implemented in almost four minutes of pure rock’n’roll artistry. The group had a sole intention to showcase a slightly modernized version of the legendary song by the legendary group, and I must admit they succeeded in their aims. Their rhythm section sounds confident, complex, and dynamic with all cleverly assembled rhythmic sequences, maneuvers, accentuations, and fills. It gives more than necessary support to the remainder of the instruments, which sound equally superb.
You will immediately stumble upon warm sounding low-end tones which are vividly hearable from scratch to finish. It doesn’t come as a surprise because these guys are experienced musicians who understand how properly performed rock’n’roll should sound in the final mix. The riffs are coming as a final layer that lurks above, and while this type of distortion is not something I prefer, I have to say it goes perfectly with the remainder of the instruments. Everything sounds perfect from beginning to end. Maybe this type of music is not something you usually listen to at home. Still, you can’t deny that The R Train Band did an incredible job while covering this song. You can listen to the single on all streaming services, while the video is available for watching on YouTube.
