ENCI Records: Year In Review

Burgeoning record label Enci Records, run by veteran artist manager Pat Magnerella, had a hugely successful year which saw the release of new music from the likes of The Joy Formidable, Fences, Kulick, The Workday Release, Clo Sur, Jeremiah Moon, Summer Years, and The Aquadolls.

2021 also saw the return of live shows, with many of the label’s artists (such as Beach Goons, The Aquadolls etc) heading back out on tour and playing major music festivals like Lollapalooza, Beachlife and Ohana Fest.

Collectively, the roster accumulated over 24.5 million streams and landed on multiple major playlists, while receiving praise from media outlets across the globe.

In 2022 the label will release debut releases from Dancing On Tables, Summer Years, Jeremiah Moon, Clo Sur, and more to be announced in the months ahead.

Beach Goons

[11.8M streams and 1.3M listeners]

Beach Goons’ fall headline tour was a sell-out, which was all the more impressive considering that the alter-ego of San Diego based musician Pablo Cervantez hasn’t released new music since 2018’s acclaimed ‘Hoodratscumbags.’ That is all set to change with the upcoming release of a new album in 2022, more touring and an appearance at Coachella this spring.

Over the last several months, the trio has garnered press from major media outlets such as Spin and Paste, Flood Magazine, Hollywood Life and LA’s KTLA TV while finding themselves on major playlists like Spotify’s The New Alt, New Noise, New Alt-Rock Mixtape, Fierce Femmes and Apple Music’s Shazam: The Best New Music. Enigmatic, atmospheric bedroom pop artist Clo Sur released a new single “One More Time” which he says is about, “the exhaustion that comes with constantly giving yourself to a one-sided relationship. I think everyone knows what it’s like to feel used and powerless and the song exists in that place of trying to take back control by drawing a hard line.”
