Down Again Release Single And Music Video For The Fire Featuring Counterparts Singer Brendan Murphy

On the heels of the recently released EP ‘Bury The Bones’, Down Again has dropped a single version of “The Fire” which features Counterparts vocalist Brendan Murphy. The special edition of the track is available now as a single on SpotifyApple Music and Youtube.

Down Again vocalist/guitarist Lenny Costa speaks further on the effort. “The music video for “The Fire” is probably the best we have ever done. We worked with director Tyler Dugoni and motion graphics expert Rzarekt to put it together and couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out.  It was the first time we have worked with any type of 3-D effects on a video and it brought such an awesome element to the visuals. It has such a different feeling from any of our past videos and we think it really does a good job of elevating the music.”

Down Again pulls heavy influence from early 2000’s post hardcore favorites, which they cite groups like Underoath, Thrice, Defeater and Brand New as their inspiration to pick up instruments and begin their own journeys. This young group, who are also longtime friends, grew up skating, surfing and going to shows together throughout the bay area. Down Again has assembled a new EP and singles that have the energy and songwriting of a veteran group but with the comfort of knowing they are just getting started.

California Emo/Post-hardcore outfit Down Again had been carefully planning their introduction to the world and released their single “Actions & Their Consequences” May 2020, followed by their debut LP “The Devil is a Gentlemen” in June. These long time trio of friends have spent the last 9 years outdoors skating, surfing and hiking. The music on “The Devil is a Gentlemen” touches on the struggles of questioning faith, loss, infidelity and mental health.

Less than a year later the band released their “Live Acoustic Session” in March 2021 to give those songs a chance to be heard live, raw, and acoustic with shows being canceled due to the pandemic. Down Again draws heavy influence from early 2000’s favorites such as Brand New, Underoath, Thrice, and Manchester Orchestra. The band is rounded out by Lenny Costa (vocals/guitar), Lucas Garcia (vocals/guitar/drums/keys) and Alex Wechter (bass).

The band released their new EP ‘Bury the Bones’ on September 3rd and their latest single “The Fire (feat. Brendan Murphy)” is available now on all streaming platforms.
