Authority Zero – Ollie Ollie Oxen Free LP

This band doesn’t need any introduction. Authority Zero roams the melodic punk rock scene for decades, and their music ages like a fine wine. Each following album offers even more improvements, surprises, potential punk rock hits, and they’re certainly one of those bands that are not allowing any mistakes during the recording process. Their impressive discography perfectly illustrates the brilliance of this band, and whatever recording you pick up at the starting point it will serve as a great introduction to their sound. The group released a brand new full-length album called Ollie Ollie Oxen Free. This material comes as a follow-up to the Persona Non-Grata and Live At The Rebel Lounge if we count live recordings as well. However, it seems Authority Zero exceeded all expectations with a brand new material.

Ollie Ollie Oxen Free represents their highly anticipated recording that consists of thirteen brand new compositions performed in a recognizable Authority Zero manner. This material was heavily promoted over social media by several singles and The Back Nine EP, digitally distributed over various streaming platforms. All these samples indicated that Authority Zero doesn’t lack motivation, inspiration, and creativity to produce another tremendous recording. Authority Zero offers a perfectly balanced material that carries something for everyone. No matter if you’re into vigorous skate punk, profoundly detailed melodic punk rock, dynamic verses, anthemic moderate choruses, cool ska chops, or calmy reggae tunes, Authority Zero got you covered. I am talking about the band that perfected this style, so if you’re up for some flawlessly performed melodic punk rock, then Ollie Ollie Oxen Free is the right choice for you.

The amount of ear-appealing chord progressions, energetic riffs, pleasing melodies, and harmonies goes beyond comprehension. The new guitar player shines bright on the spotlight, but do not forget longstanding members who’re progressing with years. It seems like this band doesn’t lack any ideas when it comes to songwriting and composing, and that’s unquestionably vividly hearable on Ollie Ollie Oxen Free. Jason DeVore nails once again with his cleverly assembled lyrics that are cheering up in the worst times for mankind. Everything from profoundly melodic guitars over thoughtfully arranged basslines to an exceptional drumming performance indicates Authority Zero becomes even better with age. The band also thought about the visual aspect of their brand new material, so this time group decided to include meaningful visual identity that criticizes contemporary society. Ollie Ollie Oxen Free is such a treat both sonically and visually. Head over to Authority Zero’s website for more detailed information about ordering this punk rock gem.
