Miesha And The Spanks – Singles 12″ EP (Saved By Vinyl)

Miesha And The Spanks are back with another brilliant release. This highly anticipated material represents a collection of seven singles encapsulated on a 12″ vinyl record. The broader audience had a chance to enjoy four compositions from this material before the initial release date. Singles such as Unstoppable, Wanna Feel Good, Mixed Blood Girls, I Want Fire served as perfect overtures to the remaining three compositions, so the broader auditorium had a sneak peek of what they could expect from new EP. These singles were collectively played on CBC Radio 3 (SXM), CBC Music Streams, Canada’s Indigenous Peoples’ Radio (SXM), BBC Music 6 Recommends, The Rodney Bingenheimer Show on Underground Garage (SXM), The Strombo Show, Tim Pyle’s shows on 91X in San Diego, BTR Today, X929, The Zone in Victoria, 94.9 The Rock in Toronto, been featured on Hockey Night In Canada (Sportsnet) and the Indigenous Music Countdown. Plus many more campus and community stations across North America and in the UK. With exposure like this, there is no wonder why Miesha And The Spanks received such good critics about their latest material.

For those who somehow missed this duo before, Miesha And The Spanks are mainly focusing on proto-punk sound, but of course, there are more ingredients involved in their energetic music. You will instantly notice their dominating grungy sound that delivers a dosage of abrasiveness over the colossal guitar riffs. This layer of abrasiveness is one of the main characteristics of grunge, garage rock, alternative rock music, so with great assurance, I can state Miesha And The Spanks are thoroughly exploring these elements during this recording. The duo also explores the aesthetics of punk rock music, but they are not overwhelming the other ingredients with these experimentations. Besides fuzzy, noisy, dirty guitar chord progressions and riffages, you will notice an outstanding drumming performance that emits series of dynamic rhythmic sequences, accentuations and fills. Miesha And The Spanks are exploring nineties grunge, post-grunge, garage rock, proto-punk, and punk rock through their energetic compositions, and they are doing it pretty damn well. High-pithed lead vocals are perfectly matching the sonic aesthetics of the band and enhancing the overall listening experience. You should definitely check out their Singles 12″ EP if you are into the beforementioned genres.

Singles EP comes in a couple of different vinyl variants, such as red translucent with black smoke, clear translucent with black smoke, and gold translucent with black smoke. Head over to their Bandcamp page for more detailed information about ordering.
