Holy Roller Baby is a Dallas, Texas based quartet deeply rooted in the seventies hard rock music. Formed in 2017 with a sole purpose to deliver nothing but pure rock’n’roll music, Holy Roller Baby are more than ready to shake your bones with some proper wall of sound. Their debut album Frenzy drops on October 9th, 2020, and this particular material showcases all the qualities of the entire group through eleven thoughtfully composed numbers. This profoundly energetic quartet promoted their upcoming debut through a couple of singles, such as Leper Blues and Ravings At Your Window. These meaningful tracks are promising enormous dosages of skillful musicianship, deeply stacked beneath layers of characteristic sound.

Besides a dominant presence of seventies hard rock sound, Holy Roller Baby flirts with a couple of more genres along the way. You may hear calmer blues moments, southern accentuations, giant slabs of a fuzzy stoner rock. The group also incorporates progressive and psychedelic rock, but these segments are subtle enough not to spoil the primary direction of the band. It’s interesting how the entire group precisely articulates throughout the album. The marvelously arranged interpolations from calmer bluesy rock segments to massive classic rock sequences are one of the signature moves of Holy Roller Baby, and it will satisfy even the pickiest admirers of these spectacular genres.

Despite their devotion towards all these genres, Holy Roller Baby is somehow avoiding all the cliches presented on the contemporary scene. Their music resembles the sound of the greats such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, MC5, Soundgarden, Kyuss, but the group tends to sound unique as much as this mixture of genres allows it. Holy Roller Baby takes advantage of the vital elements of seventies progressive, psychedelic, and classic hard rock music. Then blends it in with the heart and soul of blues and southern sound. Finally, the group covers this mixture with fuzzy sounds of stoner rock to spice things up a little bit more. Frenzy houses eleven profoundly melodic compositions, fully packed with soulful performance and emotional moments that will force you to spin this album again and again. However, this particular material carries enough massiveness to shake your body to the rhythm. It’s a comprehensive amalgam built upon all the qualities of classic hard rock music, so make sure not to miss this one.
