Lagwagon – Railer LP (Fat Wreck Chords)

A band like Lagwagon really needs no introduction, especially if you’re deeply into melodic punk rock music. Whoever crossed paths with skatepunk music even once probably heard some of their albums such as Duh, Trashed, Hoss, Double Pladinium, Let’s Talk About Feelings which almost became an instant classics at the time they were published. Plus, the rest of their discography is impressive as well with brilliant albums like Blaze, Resolve and Hang. The band also published a couple of EP’s such as Tragic Vision/Angry Days, Brown Eyed Girl, A Feedbag Of Truckstop Poetry, I Think My Brother Used To Listen To Lagwagon; a compilation of rarities and previously unreleased tracks called Let’s Talk About Leftovers; live recording Live In A Dive; plus Putting Music In It’s Place boxset, a remastered versions of first four albums, B-Sides, and alternate song versions. Railer is their latest album which has been published by Fat Wreck Chords, a well-known punk rock label that has been their publisher since their formation. This time, Lagwagon are going back to the essence of their sound, assembling all the key elements of both melodic punk rock and heavy metal music into one divine sonic exploration through the vast space of skillful musicianship. It seems they’re not lacking any ideas as the time passes by and quite contrary, these fine musicians are expanding their part of the musical universe with various melodic guitar dualities, incredibly performed basslines and perfectly executed drumming which binds everything together into one impressive punk rock masterpiece. Speaking of arrangements, Lagwagon are also implementing some notable moments which has already been used at their previous albums, but this time they’re presented as randomly mixed pieces of one giant puzzle, which demands your fullest attention in order to reminiscent some highlights of their previous recordings. The entire band gave all the best to outstand themselves and they surely achieved it with Railer. The album is available in both physical and digital forms, so you can order it on vinyl or CD at Fat Wreck Chords website or purchase it through all the possible streaming services. Don’t miss a chance to treat your ears with this punk rock masterpiece.
