A chance to review a band from South Korea is more than ultra rare, so I decided to give a listen to Slant, a four piece band from Seoul I thought it would sound like a tons of Japcore bands, but man I was so wrong. This is a fine blend of G.L.O.S.S, Knife Fight, Trash Talk, Ceremony and perhaps Green Beret. Pretty good hardcore punk with almost garage sounding demo which will probably destroy your stereo in less than 10 minutes. Of course, there’s a lot of ”heard it all before” riffs, but also there’s a lot of catchy ones which will surprise you from time to time. Their faster tracks are amazing, ear ripping vocals are just as good as their music and the drummer is up to the task when it comes to this genre. The demo contains six powerful tracks, four written in english and two written in their native language. First press is already sold out, but rumours are circling around that second press is in the works through Pissed Off Records in Malaysia and third press through Headcount Records in the US, so there’s a chance to grab this fine piece of plastic that will not dissapoint you at all.
