Tokyo’s lo-fi punk powerhouse Angel Face return with a vengeance, announcing their upcoming album Out In The Street, due October 10th on Slovenly Recordings. The announcement follows the band’s recent August trek through the lush, rain-soaked landscapes of the American Pacific Northwest—their second U.S. tour since appearing at Memphis’ storied Goner Fest in 2023.
Carrying forward material conceived during the sessions for their debut, Out In The Street distills Angel Face’s trademark mix: the sugar-rush immediacy of ’50s pop, the fuzz-soaked grit of ’60s garage obscurities, and the unrelenting punch of ’70s proto-punk. With members who cut their teeth in cult acts like Teengenerate, Firestarter, and The Fadeaways, the band channels decades of raw, stripped-down rock into a no-frills recording produced entirely in their rehearsal space.
The release date aligns with another milestone: Angel Face’s debut European performance at the legendary Funtastic Dracula Carnival in Spain.
Out In The Street will be available on vinyl and digital platforms October 10th, with pre-orders now open via Slovenly Recordings’ webstore.
