American actress, writer, director, musician and comedian Noël Wells is excited to present “Show Me (What You Got)”, her first original song release in six years. Known for her multifaceted creative work, Wells returns with a track from a genre she’s coined “Bonk Pop” that encourages the search for positivity in these dark times that we’re currently experiencing. “‘Show Me (What You Got)’ came to me while I was feeling lonely visiting a garden in Los Angeles — it felt too happy so I didn’t do anything with it,” Wells said. “Then a year later I was all alone on a literal island looking at the stars and it came back in a flash. It’s a song about choosing joy and freedom even in the face of things at large sucking. I hope it makes people happy and gets them dancing.” Stream “Show Me (What You Got)” on YouTube HERE and Spotify/Apple Music/iTunes HERE.
Making her national television debut as a cast member on Saturday Night Live during its 2013–2014 season, Noël Wells gained wider recognition for her on-camera breakout role as “Rachel” in the 2015 critically acclaimed Netflix series Master of None, where she played the love interest opposite Aziz Ansari. Her performance was praised for its subtlety and sincerity, contributing to the show’s Emmy-winning success.
Wells made her directorial debut with the indie film Mr. Roosevelt (2017), which she also wrote, co-produced and starred in. The film premiered at SXSW and won the Audience Award and Best Narrative Feature (Louis Black “Lone Star” Award) as well as the best narrative feature at the Traverse City Film Festival. A bittersweet comedy with millennial sensibilities, it established Wells as a fresh directorial voice with a sharp eye for intimate, character-driven storytelling. It was later purchased by Netflix.
