With the release of her haunting new single The Nite The Stars Fell (For Kurt Cobain), British Columbia singer-songwriter Kele Fleming offers a luminous tribute woven from the threads of personal crisis and musical reverence. Written during a medical emergency on April 5, 2024 (the 30th anniversary of Cobain’s death) Fleming composed much of the track.
The track features Canadian punk icon Art Bergmann on vocals, blending Fleming’s ethereal instrumentation with a rock backbone reminiscent of 1990s indie grit. A veteran of Vancouver’s influential Hazel Motes, Fleming has forged a solo career rich in emotion, lyrical depth, and sonic experimentation. With this release, she cements her reputation as one of Canada’s most fearless and introspective songwriters.
