Dead Actors is an art-rock four-piece based in Brighton, UK.
The band formed in 2021 to release the debut album of guitarist, singer and songwriter Jonah Hartley, titled Dancing Plague of 1518. Since then, Dead Actors has evolved into a collaborative project featuring Daniel Brown on a mutilated jazzmaster known as the ‘evil guitar’, Ciarán Harris on bass and Maxime Rigoulay on the drums. Whilst the band has changed, with its sound reaching towards more exploratory territory, Jonah’s introspective and cinematic lyrics remain at the core.
The band is preparing for the release of their current EP, Abused and Pampered Horses, from which three singles have been taken: Liquid Mercury (24th January), Nearly Valentine’s Day (13th February) and Bright White Blinding Light (7th March). These singles, all different in their approach, showcase various aspects in the band’s development. Haunting guitars and soundscapes weave their webs below stream-of consciousness narratives; they span from gentle and dreamlike to dramatic and violent.
