Relive Punk Rock History: The Sex Pistols’ 1978 US Tour Captured On Never-Heard-Before Live Albums

Punk rock fans, prepare for a raw blast from the past! The Sex Pistols may be mired in modern controversies, but their chaotic heyday is about to resurface in spectacular form. Three never-before-heard live albums chronicling their infamous 1978 US tour have been announced, offering an unfiltered look at the band’s turbulent final days before their 1996 reunion.

This new series of live recordings includes:

  • January 5, Atlanta
  • January 10, Dallas
  • January 14, San Francisco – the band’s last show for nearly two decades.

The albums will initially be released as special edition colored vinyl:

  • San Francisco (red vinyl): February 28
  • Dallas (white vinyl): March 28
  • Atlanta (blue vinyl): April 25

Following the vinyl releases, all three shows will drop as a three-CD set and on digital platforms.

These performances are legendary for their intensity—hostility surrounded the tour, with protests outside and mayhem inside. Fights, flying objects, and chaotic energy turned every show into a battle of wills, perfectly encapsulating the essence of punk rock rebellion.

Whether you lived through the chaos or are discovering it for the first time, this release offers a front-row seat to the Sex Pistols’ combustible legacy.
