Serbian post-punk quartet Gazorpazorp presents new single and music video “Mahovina”, which heralds the release of their debut album “Niz reku”, set to released in late January 2025 in collaboration between Moonlee Records and Pop Depression. The single “Mahovina” is already available on all streaming platforms, while the music video, directed by Ana Đurović, can be viewed on YouTube.
Compared to Gazorpazorp’s earlier tracks, the single “Mahovina” (translated in english: “Moss”) features a more subdued and mature songwriting. The lush guitars create a dreamy and melancholic atmosphere, while the raw vocals and existential lyrics by bassist Miloš Đerković, with their dynamic range, invite to choral sing-along.
“The song Mahovina explores the theme of transience and the personal struggle with existential questions,” emphasize the members of the band Gazorpazorp, who are also part of the Hali Gali collective.
The music video was directed by young director Ana Đurović, who depicted the essence of the song with the symbolism of Pannonian windmills. The chaotic and distorted shots represent the struggle with transience, while the calm landscape symbolizes the search for inner peace. The director of photography was Kiša Radić, Ana Žeželj was the photography assistant and took care of color grading, while the editing was done by Marija Gojačanin.
The track was recorded by Uroš Milkić at Down There Studio, the mix was done by Andrej Mladenović, while James Plotkin did the mastering.
Gazorpazorp is a Belgrade-based post-punk/noise rock band, known for their energetic performances and innovative sound that blends contemporary influences with a rich tradition of alternative music. The band members are Jasmin Rastić, Nikola Bajčetić, Damjan Nedelkov, and Miloš Đerković, and the release of their debut album Niz reku is scheduled for late January 2025.
