Produced by Jason Perry (Don Broco, Trash Boat) at The Marshall Studio and mixed/mastered by Blair Crichton of Dead Pony, “Wasted On Youth” is a vibrant explosion of new wave punk, indie and garage-laden rock songs that marks The Molotovs as one of Britain’s most vital bands.
“Wasted On Youth” addresses self-empowerment and determination, as well as the right to have a good time. With a finger on the pulse of a bustling live scene, it is poised to become a modern classic informed by rock history while maintaining contemporary relevance and a rock-and-roll attitude emblazoned on their sleeves.
Scattered with themes of social and political awareness, and conveying a sense of being personally overwhelmed, connected yet internally fragmented, brimming with hope and youthful energy, yet grounded in the reality of everyday challenges and modern life.
Comprising siblings Mathew and Issey Cartlidge, The Molotovs have been grinding on the live circuit, garnering attention from both fans and press alike for their explosive performances. Although Matt is still 17 and Issey 19, the band have learnt their craft on stage, playing more than 600 gigs since 2020. They’ve shared stages with the likes of The Libertines, Sex Pistols, Blondie, Iggy Pop and The Damned – as well as being shouted out by Green Day and Paul Weller.
