This is the third volume in a Ten Poets series of books showcasing a variety of poets producing excellent, if sometimes unnoticed, work. This collection is intended to act as a primer to check out their other work and / or book them to perform in your city, town or village. Poetry is everywhere and for everyone.
Poetry paints pictures with words, tells stories, chews over ideas, can act as catharsis, can make you laugh like a lunatic, can make you cry tears of sorrow or joy, picks it the scabs of everyday life, ponders the absurd. Can be cruel, can be kind, can be full of passion – love and hate. Can be a catalyst for reflection, renewal, or revolution! Poetry is all these things and more. Poetry is our lingua franca.
For some of these ten poets that feature in this collection this is their first published work, for others these poems sit alongside their other books, contributions to literary magazines, etc. It doesn’t matter, they’re all here in one place waiting for their words to smack you in the chops. Form an orderly queue and take these poems on the chin.
There are individual author biographies inside for each poet.
